What's your average prayer?

Monday, June 11, 2007

Hey, thank you so much to everyone who's come to my side through this time. Everyone words mean a lot. I was also struck by how many have said "I've been there." It is comforting to know that it'll pass and it's worth it. And I do think things are getting better.

One way I was shown that God loves me this weekend that Joni, Cole, and Jerry came to Arizona for the weekend! It was a surprise to me! But I couldn't have enjoyed it more!

I only have this one picture stolen from Simone's blog, but I'll get more - Joni is a digital camera queen now! It's the beginning of an era folks! Joni: "How can I ever stop now?" Me:"Well, maybe once you take a picture of /everything/, you'll slow down!" :) It was a great time.
(and happy birthday taka and simone!)
Things are also slowing down back to normal at CESL. That should be nice. Last week wore me out, but I really do hope to become good friends with the new students and better friends with the old. And cool thing: a CESL student from Kuwait, named Zara, lives right next door to my summer apartment! How awesome is that!
Something else cool: Christine Hnat (soon Jolly), who's blog I've kept up with over the year, has ended her search for a good source for how women can encourage the men around them to take their roles as leaders, while love their role as helper. She found it in a book called Sacred Influence by Gary Thomas. She posted exerpts from the book on her blog and her thoughts, and it sounds really cool. I think I'll buy it soon. Anyways I feel like I've already learned a lot from what's on her site.
Finally, Kevin sent me this! It's the common prayers of people based on their Myers-Briggs personality tests! The one for my type, ISFJ, made me laugh so hard because it is SO TRUE, for me at least! See for yourself!
ISTJ: Lord, help me to relax about insignificant details beginning tomorrow at 11:41:23 a.m. E.S.T.
ISTP: God, help me to consider people’s feelings, even if most of them ARE hypersensitive.
ESTP: God, help me to take responsibility for my own actions, even though they’re usually NOT my fault.
ESTJ: God, help me to not try to RUN everything. But, if You need some help, just ask.
ISFJ: Lord, help me to be more laid back and help me to do it EXACTLY right.
ISFP: Lord, help me to stand up for my rights (if you don’t mind my asking).
ESFP: God, help me to take things more seriously, especially parties and dancing.
ESFJ: God, give me patience, and I mean right NOW.
INFJ: Lord, help me not to be a perfectionist (did I spell that correctly?).
INFP: God, help me to finish everything I sta
ENFP: God, help me to keep my mind on one th - Look a bird! - at a time.
ENFJ: God, help me to do only what I can and trust you for the rest. Do you mind putting that in writing?
INTJ: Lord, keep me open to other’s ideas, WRONG though they may be.
INTP: Lord, help me to be less independent, but let me do it my way.
ENTP: Lord, help me follow established procedures today. On second thought, I’ll settle for a few minutes.
ENTJ: Lord, help me slow downandnotrushthroughwhatIdo.
For the people whom I know their type, it seems pretty spot on as well! What do you all think?
