so exciting!

the world is flawed, but these scars will heal

like Peter

Sunday, April 06, 2008

Get the focus off myself! I get it!

I see I need some time in the wilderness again

to throw up these disgusting Baals!

And then live for Your kingdom alone, my King!

ohh and for the times I was all tough,

pretending it was for You but it wasn't,

You can call me 'Rocky'

all You want.

Or 'Satan,'

for all the times that I deny that You know what You're doing.

So that when You call out to me,

reminding me it is finished,

I'll trip all over myself

with joy,

because You've rescued the one You called 'Satan'

and forgiven her!

For You died to save sinners!

So let me respond like Peter,

and come running to Your arms in full assurnce of Your love,

even when I've betrayed you, much more than 3 times.

Because only with a God like You could anyone respond so.

can all of you scattered people who possibly still read my blog do this?

Buy Jon Foreman's spring EP. listen to it. and then if you like it (you probably will), tell me and tell other people, so I don't have to be the only person I know who absolutely loves these songs.

I don't think that video did justice for the song "Your Love is Strong." I do believe it's my favorite worship song now... as different as it is from all other kinds of worship music I listen to (The Village has changed my tastes a bit...). It uses the Lords prayer and a few other truths to make a beautiful reminder of God's love. here's the lyrics written out:

Heavenly Father
You always amaze me
Let your kingdom come
In my world and in my life
You give me the food I need
To live through the day
And forgive me as I forgive
The people that wronged me

Lead me far from temptation
Deliver me from the evil one

I look out the window
The birds are composing
Not a note is out of tune
Or out of place

I look at the meadow
And stare at the flowers
Better dressed than any girl
On her wedding day

So why do I worry?
Why do I freak out?
God knows what I need
You know what I need!

Chorus (3x):
Your love is
Your love is
Your love is strong!

The kingdom of the heavens
Is now advancing
Invade my heart
Invade this broken town
The kingdom of the heavens
Is buried treasure
Will you sell yourself
To buy the one you've found?

Two things you told me
That you are strong
And you love me
Yes, you love me!

(Chorus 3x)

Our God in heaven
Hallowed be
Thy name above all names
Your kingdom come
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us today our daily bread
Forgive us weary sinners
Lead us far from our vices
And deliver us from these prisons

Nicely put!

Saturday, March 22, 2008

John wrote this little gem of a line at the end of his gospel:

"And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen." (John 21:25)

:)

(happy Easter!)

Equally skilled

Monday, March 10, 2008

This song is based on Micah 7

How miserable I am
I feel like the fruitpicker who arrived here
after the harvest
There's nothing here at all
There’s nothin at all that could placate my hunger

The godly people are all gone
There's not one honest soul left alive here on the planet
We're all murders and theives
Setting traps here for even our brothers

And both of our hands
Are equally skilled
At doing evil
Equally skilled
At bribing the judges
Equally skilled
At perverting justice
Both of our hands
Both of our hands

The day of justice comes
And is even now swiftly arriving
Don't trust anyone at all
Not your best friend or even your wife

For the son hates the father
The daughter despises even the mother
Look! Your enemies are right
Right in the room of your very household

And both of thier hands
Are equally skilled
At doing evil
Equally skilled
At bribing the judges
Equally skilled
At perverting justice
Both of their hands
Both of their hands

No, don't gloat over me
For though I fall, though I fall
I will rise again

Though I sit here in darkness
The Lord, the Lord alone
He will be my light

I will be patient as the Lord
Punishes me for the wrongs
I've done against him

After that he'll take my case
Bringing me to light and to justice
For all I have suffered

And both of his hands are equally skilled
At ruing evil
Equally skilled
At judging the judges
Equally skilled
At ministering justice
both of his hands
both of his hands are equally skilled
At showing the mercy
Equally skilled
At loving the lover
Equally skilled
At ministering justice
Both of his hands
Both of his hands

New Years Resolution

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

Well, since so many people have decided that their New Years Resolution would be to blog more, I thought I'd take this one time to announce that my New Years Resolution is to...not blog.

Because I write too much.

And you guys don't know of how many posts I've started and have never been finished or published, because I write too much.

I'll still write replies to other people's blog posts, but I'll try to keep them short.

I'm having a good start to a new semester.

Ok...gonna stop writing now.
